Cysteine (N-acetyl cysteine)

L-cysteine is today often classed as a semi-essential amino acid due to its ability to neutralize toxic heavy metals in the body. It plays an important role in the synthesis of structural proteins and thus contributes to the stiffness and stability in the connective tissue. L-Cysteine protects nerves from oxidation and is thus able to prevent illnesses such as Alzheimers or Parkinsons.
