Anti-Estrogen supplements are products designed to help suppress estrogen production or remove excess estrogen in your body. Anti-estrogen supplements can be used to gain strength, enhance recovery and build more muscle.  The main use for these estrogen blocker supplements is for proper post-cycle-therapy or PCT.  When using pro-hormones or even strong natural testosterone boosters, these supplements can also raise your bodies estrogen levels even to a point where severe side effects can occur such as gynomastia.  Estrogen blocker supplements can help prevent this and in some cases reverse them.

Estrogen is found naturally in both men and women, higher in women in most cases.  But if a male’s estrogen is too high, this can cause the body to decrease testosterone production which would be detrimental for increasing muscle.  There are many factors that can lead to high estrogen levels.  The main causes can be diet, obesity and even genetics.   Thankfully there are natural estrogen blocker supplements out there that can help lower the levels of estrogen in the body.  Below are a few of the key ingredients found in most estrogen suppressing supplements.

Resveratrol:  Also known as trans-resveratrol or polygonum cuspidatum extract.  This polyphenol is naturally found in the skin of red grapes, certain berries and other plants.  Resveratrol can help support healthy cardiovascular function as well as inhibit aromatase and increase testosterone.

Indole-3-carbinol (I3C): Has been used for prevention of certain cancers as it is high in concentration in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, turnips and others.  I3C is also shown to decrease estrogen, but high quantities are needed because it is very poorly absorbed.

Diindoylymethane (DIM):  Is derived from similar vegetables as I3C and they are closely related.  Studies have shown DIM keeps the body in balance and converts more potent forms of estrogen into less potent forms.  Caution should be taken though as too much DIM taken at once can act in the opposite manner.

Arimistane: With the chemical name of Androsta-3, 5-diene-7, 17-Dione, this compound is a powerful aromatase inhibitor and cortisol blocker.  Meaning it binds to the enzyme aromatase and prevents it from converting androgens into estrogens.  This supplement is very popular now for PCT use.
